What Is MIMA?
The Metal Injection Molding Association (MIMA) is one of six trade associations of the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), which represents the world’s leading suppliers of metal powders, PM parts and products, and processing equipment. MIMA corporate members fall into one of the following three groups: firms commercially engaged in the production of injection molded metal or ceramic products utilizing powder materials as the basic starting constituent; suppliers of powder material; or organizations supplying binder systems, feedstock, molds, molding machines, or debinding or sintering equipment to producers of metal or ceramic injection molded products.
The objectives of the association are to improve and promote the products of the MIM industry by promoting investigation, research, and interchange of ideas among members. Educational activities in the science, practice, and application of injection molded parts include wide dissemination of information pertaining to the industry via technical conferences, courses, facts, data, and standards fundamental to the application of products of the technology.
